채석강(Chae-Seok-Gang) is based on granite formed at Precambrian in the Proterozoic period. Sedimentary precipice by coastal erosion at Mesozoic period established like tens of thousands of book.
채석강은 선캄브리아대의 화강암, 편마암을 기저층으로 하고 중생대의 백악기(약7천만년전)에 퇴적한 해식단애가 마치 수만권의 책을 쌓은 듯한 와층을 이루고 있다.
